House flipping seems to be what talk show hosts are getting good at. Ellen DeGeneres has created quite the name for herself in real estate, and it seems that Tyra Banks is following suit.
Who’s the Boss?
As a model, Tyra showed the world who’s boss on the runway, and it seems that she’s doing the same on the property market. In recent years, she has purchased a number of residences in California, revamped them, then sold them off for significant profit. And guess what? She’s just getting started.
According to the LA Times, Tyra just bought a home in Pacific Palisades, with the intention of flipping it. The paper reports that it cost her just a little over $3 million, so she hopes to fetch a handsome profit.
The home boasts four bedrooms and two bath houses, and has been a one-family property since it was put up in 1949. Evidently, the house needs an immediate makeover, and Tyra intends to renovate it into a cottage exuding both a farmhouse and beach house vibe. How trendy.
We must hand it to the media personality for having an ear out and an eye for potential valuables, as the specific mansion is just perfect for a do-over. It occupies roughly 1,600 square feet, encompassing both a living and dining room, as well as a sunroom and a fireplace. Sliding doors made of glass lead you into the residence’s backyard, which is some landscape to die for by the way.
With all these, you must admit that Tyra knew what she was doing, right? She actually wanted this piece of property so bad that she outbid all her competitors by a considerable amount. Given that they were all renowned property developers, this was a huge achievement!
The house first hit the market in May with an asking price of $2.849 million. With the amount of interest the property generated, the house definitely had to go up in price. Tyra, obviously, had to get it one way or the other.
In all honesty, Ms. Banks has built quite the portfolio in real estate, with this purchase being her fifth in just two years.
Tyra hit the spotlight as a model, before venturing into an acting career. In 2003, she created America’s Next Top Model, which has aired 24 seasons till now. A 25th is very much in the offing, seeing the impact the show has had on the fashion and entertainment industries. Tyra also serves as executive producer on her own show, and hosted The Tyra Banks Show from 2005 to 2010.
She really is a Jack of all trades, no? But if she can master all these crafts, why not go ahead and do it? And didn’t you love it when she was on America’s Got Talent – she just seems to have a thing about these shows, doesn’t she?
Tyra is almost a perfect fit, seeing as she has just the persona you’d expect from a media personality. Go girl!
