Is there anything that can ever dim Taylor Swift’s shining star? Not even her recent troubles with Big Machine and subsequent beef with Scooter Braun have tarnished her Reputation — no wonder her last album, going by the same name, was such a huge success.
Despite losing her masters to the talent manager, Scooter Braun, the past few months have been more than kind to the songstress.
According to Forbes, Taylor has already earned $185 million in 2019, effectively making her the highest-earning celebrity of the year.
What’s more, this feat is one for the history books since it’s Taylor’s second time at the helm of the Forbes list, being the only singer to top the list twice.
Her first stint at the top came in 2016, and that it’s been barely half a decade before she was back on top, we are safe to assume that her career is on the rise. To be honest, it shouldn’t even be an assumption. Haven’t we all been singing along to her catchy tunes?
Interestingly, making history seems to be in Taylor’s DNA. As Forbes reported it, her 2018 Reputation tour just so happens to be the United States’ highest-grossing one of all time, bringing a cumulative $266.1 million.
For being on the road from May to November, the singer definitely received adequate compensation.
Did you know that after leaving Big Machine, Taylor went on to sign with Universal Music? Her new label is also responsible for a percentage of her earnings thus far, as the deal she signed entitled her to a share of profits from the sale of Universal’s Spotify stake.
With an estimated net worth of $360 million and much more cash streaming in, you’re bound to wonder how Tay Tay spends her money. You’d be glad to know that she has thrust her hat into the real estate ring, owning multiple residences across the States, estimated to be worth a combined total of more than $84 million.
Kind and Charitable
Tay has also proven that all that money and fame hasn’t gone into her head. She’s still kind and charitable, and her $113,000 donation to the Tennessee Equality Project confirms as much.
What of all of her interactions with her fans? She even helped one Swiftie clear their student loans. She may not have done it using earnings from the past year, but who’s to say she won’t do it again with her replenished resources?
For the years that Ms. Swift has been in the game, there’s no doubt that she has a huge influence on pop culture.
Nothing confirms this more than the fact that Taylor was named the most influential Twitter personality in 2018, despite tweeting only thrice the entire year. How is that even possible? She must be the real deal!
Good music has always been what Taylor champions for, and there’s certainly a lot more coming this year. She has already teased a seventh album, which everyone knows will build up on Reputation’s success.
Thus far, this sixth one has sold more than 2 million copies in the United States, and if you haven’t grabbed your copy yet, what are you waiting for?
