Dr. Dre is among the world’s richest rappers and has even declared himself a billionaire. However, Forbes estimates that his net worth is not quite there yet, registering at $800 million. Either way, that’s quite the fortune!
The rapper has had quite the music career, making major moves in the industry and winning multiple Grammys while at it.
He has also dabbled in business, like most other successful entertainers who have discovered that smart ventures are a sure bet to amassing wealth. No wonder the world’s five richest rappers all double up as leading entrepreneurs!
A $2 Million House
With his net worth, splashing millions on a house wouldn’t be asking too much of the rapper, would it? To acquire a Mediterranean-style home in a gated Pacific Palisades community, Dr. Dre had to part with exactly $2.25 million, but you better believe that the home was every bit his money’s worth.
It occupies an estimated 3,100 sq. feet, and it is a two-storied building featuring four bedrooms with an equal number of bathrooms to boot.
A living room as well a family room can be found on the building’s ground floor, in addition to an adequately ventilated dining room with glass walls that lead you to a terrace with the best mountain views.
The kitchen is a modern room and quite sleek at that, with the center island boasting a quartz top. Just next to the kitchen is a casual, intimate dining space, which features glass doors that lead to a terrace at the back of the house.
The master bedroom is befitting of a man of Dr. Dre’s status, having an independent sitting room with a fireplace to boot. The room also has a balcony big on privacy, offering the most stunning of views, which one enjoys while swinging on a hammock.
The home’s backyard is spacious enough to entertain a handful of guests, and has two fire pits, adding the serene and cozy outdoor feel.
A Couple More Estates
Naturally, this new addition can’t be Dr. Dre’s only piece of property in Los Angeles. The mogul always owns an estate in Brentwood, whose cost towers over the $2 million he spent for his new home. The Brentwood residence cost him $40 million, and the rapper bought it from Tom Brady five years ago.
Last year, Dre spent $4.9 million for a Calabasas estate, joining a host of other celebrities who own property in the area. These stars, hmm; they sure do love sticking together, don’t they? Or is it just that they can afford these mega-mansions that they find themselves clustered together?
Soon after Dre acquired the Brentwood estate, social media was awash with speculation that he intended to dig up some part of his compound and set up an underground music studio. Unfortunately, the story fizzled out without any confirmation from the artist’s part. We shouldn’t put an underground studio past him though!
If he didn’t go ahead with it, he’s covered all the same, as the Calabasas home features an engineered studio as one of its many amenities.
