In the business world, companies must be witty and strategic when it comes to their products and their competitors. It is just how it is, there will always be competition on who can make it to the top. In the digital world we are living in today, tech companies are the ones who are definitely climbing up and it is inevitable for them not to compete with one another.
The people basically want the best experience when it comes to their smartphones, which is literally the gadget that no one could live without nowadays. It is now a part of a necessity, which is why tech companies tend to try and create the best one there is to be able to give the people what they want and make them choose their product.
One of the biggest telecommunications equipment companies in the entire world, Huawei, which is also the second larger manufactures of smartphones this year, have come up with a new 5G. This has got to be the most recent and the biggest step into communication technology so far, and Huawei have already reached it. It turns out that this could be a good news for the public but it is a bad news for the other smartphone manufacturers. It is also said that the new 5G technology by the Chinese company may be dangerous since it can be used to spy to not just on the people but also to different government agencies in the world.
Huawei Possible 5G Technology Threat
This is one of the major reason why the United States government has been worried on letting Huawei devices in the country. It is said that their products may carry advanced spying chips in them so the United States intelligence chiefs felt the need to intervene. It was earlier this year when the Senate Intelligence Committee was told by the news, the six officials who stated it was the chiefs from the CIA, FBI, and the NSA.
According to the testimony by FBI director, Chris Wray, they are very concerned when it comes to actually allowing their consumers to use the Huawei 5G devices. He said that it may risk to losing all the information and research that they have. That is because of the reputation that China has, wherein they make low quality products while copying the design and the name of brands such as designer bags, shoes, and most especially, Apple products, which is the main competitor of Huawei.
In a statement released by Huawei, they were ensuring that there is no cybersecurity risk that the United States needs to worry about. They are trusted by more than a hundred countries all over the world. However, it would seem that there is another first world country who believes that the said smartphone manufacturer poses greater risk, especially with their 5G technology.
Banned In Australia
The Australian government has officially banned Huawei because of their newest 5G technology for their wireless networks. The Chinese tech giant has admitted that they have been informed by Australia regarding their decision to ban them. According to a statement on their official account on Twitter, Huawei revealed that they are incredibly disappointed by this especially for their consumers in Australia.
This wasn’t a surprise from the land down under because for months now, national security agencies has been talking about this issue on the Australian government. It was last Thursday when they have said in a statement that a smartphone company, “may likely to be a subject of extrajudicial directions from a foreign government that conflict with Australian law”.
Since Huawei is the very first one to be able to carry 5G networks, it would be almost too impossible for the carriers to protect as well as to control unauthorized networks and may interfere with their usual wireless activities in the country. They didn’t exactly refer to China or Huawei, but the fact that Huawei has been informed about it, and they were the only ones carrying 5G except for ZTE, it was completely understandable.
It turns out that it wasn’t only Huawei that has been banned by the Australian government, in another statement, Huawei said that their fellow Chinese company, ZTE, were also banned for the same reason. ZTE is yet to release an official statement from the decision, they are still trying to figure out a way to repair the damage ever since they had been banned to do business in the United States.
